Lucy & La Mer is a Indie pop singer-songwriter who also doubles as an advocate for the LGBTQ+ community. There is a holiday which is annually celebrated on September 23rd, known as "Bi Visibility Day", meant to highlight and celebrate those in the bisexual community and the history behind it. In celebration of that, this artist released their single "Palm Springs"; which overall delivers a statement of acceptance and visibility for the bi+ community.

"I set out to create a song that joyfully celebrates the journey of discovering your own unique connections and attractions. Labels should be about empowerment and visibility, not confinement. Sadly, there's still an intense sigma surrounding those exploring their sexuality, particularly those who don't fit neatly into the straight or gay categories. We need to champion the bi-curious and foster an environment where multiple labels, or none at all, are embraced and celebrated."

The chorus is simple and repetitive yet this is a positive aspect because it allows the meaning to be picked up quickly. It is a very fun, light-hearted song with a very very important agenda.
