JACK - TRY TO ARRIVE ALIVE

Annsley “AJ” Jennings - @annsleymedia

Coming out of Omaha, Nebraska is up-and-coming indie rock band JACK, fronted by singer/songwriter Jack Osborne. After their debut album Sad Songs in C Major that released in September of last year, the group has put out a new single already titled Try to Arrive Alive. And allow me to preface this review by saying it is an absolute fucking hitter.

It is not often when a song deeply hits home for me to be honest, but JACK’s magic has struck me again. In my eyes, this song is about life just being a fucking rollercoaster and sometimes you just have to go take a step back before it swallows you whole. It appears to emphasize that it's okay to be upset and it's okay to feel how you feel but after all the shit you have been through you are still here and that's what matters, you still get up everyday and do what you have to do. You come out victorious in the end.

My favorite lyrics in this song would have to be “you should chose a life where you belong"; to me that means stop worrying about trying to fit in and change yourself for other people; do what makes YOU happy and you will eventually find your people.

The song is powerful and holds a significant meaning that I’m sure people aside from myself relate to and I cannot stress this enough…

if you aren't listening to JACK by now then what the fuck are you doing?
